2009 Online Race Results

We had 456 registered runners with another 12-15 runners who ran as VIP sponsors. 381 runners crossed the starting line compared to 434 in 2008. The cooler weather may have discouraged some of our registered runners from actually running the race.

A BIG round of thanks goes out to everyone who ran, our sponsors as well as all of our wonderful volunteers.

Weather is Looking Good - We are ready to GO!

All systems are go! The tent is up. All the water, food, prizes, music, sound and volunteers are all accounted for. Some 320+ registrations were confirmed by 5 pm Saturday which is just a bit under our last year's count of 350. We're expecting a crush of race day registrations - 150+ signed up on the day of the race last year. Please be sure to get there early! Race day registration begins at 6:30 am.

The St. Joseph PSO Jubilee Jog Committee will be raffling off a ride on a fire truck Memorial Day. Two lucky Wilmette school children, grades 1 and higher, will be chauffered to school on a fire truck courtesy of the Wilmette Fire Department. Raffle tickets will be sold at the Spring Program, Pasta Dinner and the day of the race for $5 a piece. What a great way to kick off the summer!

Even a decade after his death at age 38 in 1997, Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole remains Hawaii's best-known and most beloved singer. His career began when he and his older brother, Skippy, formed a group in their hometown near Honolulu. The two performed together until the latter died in 1982. The band continued on for some years but it was Iz's haunting voice, with its searing yet limpid falsetto, that captured the popular imagination. Indeed, his 'ukulele-laced version of "Over the Rainbow" is widely thought to be the only interpretation that could possibly stand up to Judy Garland's original.
